Akash Anand reappointed BSP national coordinator, Mayawati restores organisational responsibilities

Lucknow, Oct 5 (SocialNews.XYZ) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has once again appointed Akash Anand as the party’s National Coordinator, restoring the responsibility he previously held after he returned to the party.

Announcing the decision on her X handle, Mayawati said it was taken after considerable deliberation and in the interest of the party and the broader Bahujan movement.

She expressed hope that after the political retirement of Ashok Siddharth, Anand’s father-in-law, the party would function smoothly and there would be no need for repeated organisational changes.

The BSP chief said she had observed positive changes in Anand’s personality and working style in recent months.

She noted that a recent post by him on X seeking an opportunity to return to active organisational responsibilities has led to that impression.

According to Mayawati, the majority of party members wanted Anand in the party and wanted to give him another opportunity to work for the organisation with his earlier responsibilities restored.

She added that his father, Anand Kumar, and younger brother, Ishan Anand, had also expressed their support for the decision.

She further said that Ishan Anand had demonstrated a spirit by stating that he would continue to discharge any responsibilities entrusted to him by the party under her guidance, even without holding any formal post.

Linking the decision to the BSP’s efforts to maintain organisational discipline, Mayawati said the Bahujan community constitutes her extended family and that its welfare remains her foremost priority.

She said that several tough decisions had been taken in recent months to uphold party discipline, and even members of her own family were not exempt from such measures.

The BSP supremo said that while Akash Anand’s conduct within the party had largely been satisfactory, certain recent developments had necessitated repeated organisational adjustments. As part of those developments, Siddharth had eventually stepped away from active politics.

Recalling the legacy of Dr B.R. Ambedkar and BSP founder Kanshi Ram, Mayawati said the party had achieved important milestones in Indian politics by drawing inspiration from their ideals, sacrifices and struggles.

She said that the BSP is preparing vigorously for the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh by seeking support from all sections of society.

The reinstatement of Anand as National Coordinator is being viewed as a key organisational decision ahead of the polls. Mayawati expressed confidence that the party would function more effectively following the move, while also making it clear that future developments would largely depend on his conduct and style of functioning.

She extended her best wishes to Anand for his political future and conveyed her blessings to him, his younger brother Ishan Anand, and father Anand Kumar.

She also thanked members of the Bahujan community and her supporters for standing by her during difficult circumstances.
